The Nitro Wiki is meant to be an informational site for everything Nitro Type and Nitro Math related. All users, regardless of status or position, are expected to read through and follow all of the policies listed below for the benefit of the wiki and the users within this community. These policies apply to editing content, discussions, and everything in between.

The staff members of the wiki are here to assist and keep all users as safe as possible while maintaining open and fair behavior. For any questions about anything, contact them.

To request a change in one of the policies, contact an active staff member on their message wall.

Policies

Rules and Regulations

  • Note that all rule breaking punishments will vary depending on how severe the action is and past violations done by that user.
  • In accordance to COPPA and Fandom's Terms of Use, users under the age of 13 are not allowed to be editors on the wiki.
    • If staff finds out you are under the age of 13, you will be blocked until you turn 13 due to the Terms of Use.
  • All users, regardless of status, are required to show the utmost respect to others at all times and observe civil behavior.
  • Respect the staff when they ask you to stop doing something harmful or disruptive. They are not picking on you. You will have done something for them to ask you to stop.
  • An administrator is within their right as a trusted user of this wiki to block any users being harmful or disruptive to the community.
    • If you are blocked and want to appeal it, contact the administrator who blocked you on their message wall on Community Central.
      • Note that evidence must be shown that the block was a misunderstanding or misinterpretation. Failure to provide evidence will make your appeal null and void.
      • It is NOT appropriate to harass administrators by sending repeated follow-up messages or following them to another wiki they work on.
    • Using another account to circumvent a block is not permitted. Blocks apply per person, not per account. If it becomes known that a blocked user is using an alt account, their alt will be blocked and the block on the original account will be extended. No exceptions will be made. You cannot create another account under any circumstance when you are blocked, whether you are sorry or not.
  • You may only use one account on this wiki.
    • There are valid reasons you might use multiple accounts. In this case, staff members must be aware of the alt accounts.
    • Using alternate accounts to deceive members of the wiki is known as "sockpuppeting" and will not be tolerated. This includes circumventing a block, manipulating poll results, or lying about your alt account to staff if questioned.

Do not...

  • Cyberbully or insult/harass anyone. Any user has the right to remove or request the removal of any comments, messages, or posts that is insulting or slanderous to them personally.
  • Use derogatory, racial, political, or religious slurs/insults. These will not be tolerated at any time.
  • Use profanity or swearing of any sorts, even if censored with asterisks. Please be aware that this wiki is viewed mostly by a younger audience as it is a wiki for a game.
  • Spam or vandalize any part of the wiki.
  • Ask for or post guidelines about how to do anything illegal, such as botting or trading.
  • Beg for anything. This includes asking for cash, Gold Membership, accounts, races, or other people to join a team.
  • Rant about anything. This includes Shop items, user(s) of Fandom, Nitro Type/Nitro Math, Gold Membership (including the perks Gold members have over non-Gold members), or cash.
  • Double post in Discussions, message walls, or comments. This means replying to a single post twice with no replies by anyone else in between. Edit the most recent reply instead. Once 6 hours have passed since the last reply, then you can reply again to "bump" the thread.
  • Ask for any other users' personal information.
  • Advertise anything (such as wikis, teams, or social media profiles) unless they are done in user blog posts.
  • Impersonate or spread false information about anyone else.
  • Post in threads on Message Walls or Discussions that have not had any replies in over a week. This is known as necroposting. Most likely, people will have moved on since the discussion has long ended.
  • Do any actions that only a staff member should be doing if you are not a staff member of this wiki. This is known as "mini modding" and is not allowed no matter how helpful you're trying to be. This includes, but is not limited to, telling people they shouldn't be breaking a certain rule, threatening to do an action only staff members can do, and warning people.
  • Ask to become a staff member of the wiki. Staff members will be added when they are needed.
  • Delete warnings from staff members on your message wall.
  • Trick people into believing something that is false or not confirmed is true (e.g. Showing the wrong items in the Item Shop in the future).
  • Support or encourage the breaking of any rules.

Editing Policy

Content

  • Do not change the format of or rename pages to your own preferences or make significant changes to templates without staff's permission.
  • Do not edit farm. This normally comes in the form of making unhelpful or unnecessary edits, usually for the sole purpose of earning badges. This includes adding unnecessary images or categories.
  • Do not add any future information without reliable evidence on pages. Even if it is just speculation that is likely to be true based on events that already happened.
    • This includes information about items in future Shop rotations. Even if the pattern appears to be obvious, you never know when the admins will decide to change the rotations. However, if this information already appears in the bootstrap, then it is acceptable to add that information in.
  • Do not create articles for custom content or post custom content on any wiki page. This is not a wiki for custom content. Please keep custom content to your user profile, blog posts, the Discussions, or on Nitro wikis suited for custom content.
  • You are free to undo another user's edits. However, you must provide a valid reason for undoing the edit, either in the edit summary or by messaging the user on their Message Wall. The only exception is if you are undoing obvious vandalism.
    • If someone undoes an edit of yours, it is not appropriate to undo their edit. Instead, use each other's message walls to reach a consensus. You can make your case for your opinion there and get unbiased opinions on the subject.

Categories

  • Category names should be as short as possible, but not abbreviated.
  • Do not make category names similar to ones that are already in use (e.g. do not create the category Summer Event 2013 as the category 2013 Summer Event is already used).
  • Do not add unnecessary categories to a page (e.g. a page about an achievement that rewards a car is not about a car, only about an achievement).

User Profiles

  • For your own safety and security, please avoid including any personal information on your profile page. This includes your full name, full names of friends or relatives, school/college you go to, place of employment, city you live in, and full birthdate. Remember, anything on this website can be seen by anyone on the Internet.
  • On your user profile, you may not say negative things about other users.
  • You may not have categories for content pages on the wiki on your profile or in blog posts. Please be aware that some readers navigate the wiki through navigating these categories.
  • Only staff members may have staff templates and staff categories on their profile.
    • You may not add notices that resemble or convey information similar to the Staff notices to your profile.
  • Editing another user's profile is considered impolite and should not be done without their permission. Changing spellings on their user page should not be done as the user may want it that way, and material should not be added or removed if you think it will look better for the same reason.
    • If you are sure a user mistyped something and didn't intend to, notify the user in question to fix it themselves.
    • Staff members have the right to delete or alter content on anyone's user profile for any reason.
      • If a staff member edits your page, do not revert the edit. If you disagree with the reasoning, message them and come to a consensus first.
      • If you are not a staff member and you see another users' profile that has content that is against the policies, do not edit the page. Instead, notify a staff member to fix it.

Discussions Policy

Posts

Discussions posts should have a clear title, be categorized appropriately, and have meaningful content.

  • Posts that are categorized incorrectly or do not have a clear title will have their category or title changed by a discussions moderator or an administrator. They won’t be locked unless they violate one of the other rules.
  • Here is a rundown of how the categories work for Discussions:
    • Wiki Announcements - This is the category for announcements and updates pertaining to the wiki itself. Do not make posts in this category unless you are a staff member or got approval from one beforehand.
    • Nitro Announcements - This is the category for discussing Nitro Type or Nitro Math announcements and updates.
    • Spoilers - This is the category for any “spoilers” regarding future content about Nitro Type or Nitro Math.
    • General - This is the category for anything that doesn’t belong in any of the other categories.
  • Posts that do not have meaningful content will be edited, locked, or deleted, as necessary. These include:
    • Posts that violate any of the policies found in the Rules and Regulations section.
    • Posts that serve no purpose (e.g. one-word posts, image-only posts, "joke" posts, posts stating something that has recently been posted).
    • Posts that could be in blog posts (e.g. achievement/accomplishment posts).
    • Off-topic posts.
  • Limit new posts to one every 48 hours. Discussions should be well discussed before being flushed out by new ones and should spark meaningful conversations about the topic. There are two exceptions to this rule:
    • Posts about Wiki/Nitro announcements.
    • Any posts staff members approve beforehand. In this case, at least 24 hours must have passed since the last post.

Replies

Replies should be on-topic, be of reasonable length, and have meaningful content.

  • Do not make posts or replies that have unnecessary bolding, italicizing, underlining, or otherwise unnecessary change to the text of the post. Remember, bolding everything is the same as bolding nothing.
  • Do not make off-topic replies to posts or attempt to make other people go off-topic in the replies. In the event of conflict between users, use Message Walls instead.
  • Do not falsely report posts or replies that aren't against the rules.

Advertisement
