Nitro Wiki

This is informational page about leagues. To see the original news post in the Nitro Wiki, see here.

Leagues are tiered groups that create smaller, more manageable competitions every week. They were added as a replacement for Leaderboards, due to the latter system facing increasing issues with botting, cheating, and unfair practices. Each league contains 30 players. A player is added to a league when they complete their first race of the week in Nitro Type or Nitro Math. This ensures that the player competes with players who started their weekly XP activity at around the same time. There are ten tiers of leagues in total, listed below in ascending order:

Upon advancing to the next league in the sequence, a player also completes a few achievements with the associated league name rewarding the player with several rewards with all of them including a title and some amount of cash. Please note that personal Leagues usually end on Friday at a certain time depending on the user's time zone.

Team Leagues are a section in leagues where a team competes with other 29 teams in the weekly League, similar to the Personal League. Players' personal and team league ranks may be different as they are not associated with each other. Team ranks have same names as personal ranks. However, no rewards are given for advancing in team leagues. Please note that team Leagues usually end on Wednesday at a certain time depending on the user's time zone.

Promotions and Demotions[]

Players begin at the Learner League and gradually progress through the ranks. The leaderboards are determined by XP, with higher XP levels indicating a higher position.

If a player fails to secure a spot in the promotion zone before the league concludes, there are two different outcomes: remain in their current league or be demoted to the previous league. If they fall into the bottom seven (positions 24-30) and are not part of the Learner League when the league ends, they will be demoted to the previous league no matter what. (Since the Learner League serves as the inaugural league in the system, players who fail to qualify for the promotion zone in this league will retain their position in the Learner League.)

Each League lasts one week. The place requirement for promotion to the next league is as follows:

  • Learner: Top 20 advance
  • Novice: Top 15 advance
  • Rookie: Top 10 advance
  • Pro - Master: Top 7 advance
  • Epic: Top 5 advance
  • Legend: Top 10 advance
  • Legend Finals: Top 15 win

Players also receive special rewards for completing each league and advancing past it. These rewards include:

League Title Cash Sticker
Learner "Learner Leader" $500,000
Novice "Novice Navigator" $650,000 N/A
Rookie "Rookie Racer" $850,000 N/A
Pro "Pro Pacer" $1,100,000 N/A
Ace "Ace Accelerator" $1,400,000 N/A
Expert "Expert Extraordinaire" $1,750,000 N/A
Champion "Champion Chaser" $2,250,000 N/A
Master "Master Motorist" $2,900,000 N/A
Epic "Epic Engager" $3,750,000
Legend "Legendary Lapper" $5,000,000

The top 10 players in the Legend League will advance to a special three-week-long Legend Tournament, which is comprised of:

  • Legend Tournament: Top 10 advance
  • Legend Semifinals: Top 10 advance
  • Legend Finals: Top 15 win (no further advancement)

If a player’s position falls between 11th and 30th during the Legend Tournament or Legend Semifinals when the stage ends (between 16th and 30th during the Legend Finals), they will be eliminated from the tournament and demoted all the way back down to the regular Legend League to qualify for the tournament again.

The 15 winners of the Legend Finals will receive the following: League Champion title: "League Champion", League Champion Cash: $10,000,000 and League Champion Car: Corsa Ultima, an exclusive car created specifically for the League Tournament.

In total, players can receive the following rewards from achievements in all leagues combined (including the Legend Tournament):

$30,150,000 Nitro Cash, 11 titles, 3 stickers, and 1 car.

Legend Tournament Strategy[]

A strategy that can help you win the Legend Tournament is to start racing for every stage (Tournament, Semifinals, and Finals) on Monday. This approach increases the chances of being placed in a new league where you won’t have to grind as much. Alternatively, starting the League on a day later in the week, such as Wednesday, can push you into next week’s League. This means that the time before your League ends will be extended. For instance, if you start a league on Wednesday, it will end in nine days from Wednesday.

Trivia[]

  • Leagues are a replacement for Leaderboards (also known as Top Teams), due to the Leaderboards being removed.
  • There is an in-game typing text about leagues and the Corsa Ultima.
  • If a player is in Legend League or any stage of the Legend Tournament, the Legend badge will appear on their name tag.
  • There is a glitch that will keep you from getting put into a League when you race (i.e. after you race, the League page still says "Please complete a race to join this week's leaderboard!") and your XP does not count toward your team's League during this time either.
  • There was a bug in the first few minutes of the launch of Leagues where players earned all of the Legend Tournament loot after one race. This bug was patched soon after and all the accidentally awarded loot was removed.
  • Despite the Leagues news post saying the top 10 players would win the Legend Finals (and therefore the whole Legend Tournament), the top 15 players in the Legend Finals actually end up winning.
