Keeping Your Nitro Account Secure
Hey there Nitro Typers!
Ace Typer, one of the biggest Nitro Type YouTubers, recently posted a helpful video on how to keep your Nitro account secure.
Our support team often gets sad stories about racers who didn’t properly care for their accounts and somehow lost access - we can’t help everyone, so it’s worth having a watch of Ace’s video to get some tips on how to avoid the worst.
Among Ace’s tips:
Create a really long password. Make it hard to guess and save it somewhere safe, like Chrome’s own password manager (if you’re signed in on a machine that’s yours).
Never share your password. Even if it’s tempting to do, like when you’re trying to race enough to get onto a top team, it’s never a good idea. We see so many reports of accounts lost because someone shared their password.
Don’t buy or sell NT accounts. Again, it might be tempting, but too often people online offering you money for your account is a scam. It’s also against Nitro’s Terms of Service, and can result in the account being banned. And that account you just bought? The original owner can always write into support claiming they still own it - and they will be given the account back, keeping whatever you paid AND their account.
Validate your email. When your account has a validated email address attached to it, it’s much easier for us to verify you own it if you lose your password. Validate your email now!
Nitro Gold proof of purchase. This is a very last resort, but if you bought Nitro Gold and can show us the receipt, or verify the billing address or last 4 digits of the credit card, we might be able to restore your access to the account.
Keep in mind that, as Ace says, it’s up to C/S whether they recover your account if you can’t prove you own it. That’s why the absolute best strategy to keep your account secure is to choose a very long password, never share it, and validate your email.
Hope this helps keep you on the track!
