Keeping Nitro Safe & Fair for All
Hey Nitro Typers!
We have some important updates to share with you to keep our racing community fun, fair, and safe for everyone. Please take a moment to read through these changes and reminders.
Enhanced Moderation
To keep Nitro Type a friendly place, we’ve made a massive improvement to our moderation of all player-entered text, including display names, team names, team messages of the day (MotD), and team requirements. New updates to any of these player-submitted fields are now almost-instantly moderated. If any inappropriate content is found by the new moderation system, your ability to change these items will be suspended. Subsequent violations will lead to a lifetime ban of your account.
All existing content is also being moderated, so you may receive a message informing you to change your name or other custom info. So if you see team names like "Moderated1452" or player names like "WonderfulBlueCheetah," it means the original name was moderated and a new name hasn’t been chosen yet. Our moderation system uses AI to help keep the community safe, but it's not perfect. Let’s all work together to keep Nitro Type positive and fun!
Botting Policy
We aim to keep Nitro Type fair for all players, so we want to reiterate that botting is not allowed and will result in an immediate lifetime ban. If your account is traded, stolen, shared, and then used for botting, it will also be banned without recourse even if this activity wasn't done by you. Account security is your responsibility: to protect your account, please use two-factor authentication (2FA) and strong, unique passwords.
Remember, selling, trading or account sharing accounts is also against our rules and will lead to a lifetime ban. Recently, we've banned thousands of accounts to ensure a fair playing field, and we continue to monitor and enforce these rules weekly.
Changes to Nitro Cash Sending
Soon, we will be removing the feature that allows players to send Nitro Cash to each other. But don’t despair as soon we’ll introduce a new feature that will let teams reward teammates automatically based on their participation, as we know how important team competition rewards are. Stay tuned for more details about this exciting new feature!
Upcoming Season Changes
The current season, Star Spangled Speed, might be the last one in this format. After this season, we plan to bring back special “Events” that will happen at certain times of the year. These events will reward players based on different activities, not just the number of races. Get ready for more fun ways to earn rewards!
KotR Achievements Update
To encourage healthy play habits and prevent botting, we have removed King of the Race (KotR) achievements for all milestones above 20,000 races. We want everyone to enjoy playing Nitro Type without feeling pressured to race excessively or cheat.
