Item rarity is a system that classifies items based on how difficult they are to obtain. Each item available within the Customizer has a rarity assigned to it. The rarities are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Admin. Rarities for items can change and do so frequently. In rare cases, a rarity isn't assigned to an item, in which case the item's rarity is considered Unknown. Note that many of the rarities placed on the items are not indicative of their actual rarity. Rarities were first visible outside of the bootstrap in November 2021, but they have existed in the bootstrap since at least 2018.

Trivia[]

  • Originally, the "Mythic" rarity was included but as of now, the "Mythic" rarity is completely removed.
    • When the "Legendary" title was released, it was originally given a rarity of "Mythic", before being changed to "Legendary".
  • All cars that are exclusive to admins are classified as "Legendary" instead of "Admin".
    • The "Admin" rarity is currently not in use.
  • The cheapest car classified as "Legendary" that is not exclusive to a single player or bot is Travis' Car.
  • The most common rarity out of all items is the "Rare" rarity.
  • All titles were classified as "Uncommon" rarity until "The One and Only Agu" was created in early 2022. It was first classified as "Legendary". It is now classified as "Uncommon." "Verified TikToker", released just a few months later, was the first title to be classified as "Common". It was also the first title to be classified as "Epic" before it was changed to "Uncommon". Since then, many more titles were created or changed to not be of "Uncommon" rarity.
  • Most trails that had a rarity of "Common" were changed to higher rarity on May 16, 2022. The only trails that were once classified as “Common” outside of the default trails were released during Season 35.
  • Numerous cars received rarity changes on May 25, 2022.
    • A majority of the Season Pass final tier cars are classified as "Legendary".
  • It is assumed that Item Rarity is an idea based on Fortnite, due to the fact that the rarity names and colors are identical.
  • On May 13, 2023, there was a glitch with rarities, removing the Common and Legendary rarity from items. The bug was fixed by the end of the day.
