Experience, also called EXP or XP, is earned from racing, playing games, and completing Daily Challenges during a season. It is used to level up. Each normal season level requires earning 20K XP to level up and infinity tiers require earning 40K. XP resets to 0 once the season ends.
Obtaining Experience[]
There are three ways to earn XP:
- Racing: The amount of XP earned after completing a race is detailed on the racing rewards page.
- Playing games: The amount of XP earned after completing a game is detailed on the game rewards page.
- Completing Daily Challenges: Players will earn XP upon completing a Daily Challenge.
History[]
Cumulative experience[]
Up until July 2020, cumulative experience was used. The higher a level one was, the more XP was required to level up. Some actions and objects required certain level requirements.
- Certain achievements could be completed by reaching a required level.
- Certain dealership cars required a certain level to unlock.
- Level 5 was required to start a team.
- Level 7 was required to change display names.
- Level 20 was required to purchase Gold Membership.
- Mystery boxes gave a range of different amounts of XP. The amount of XP that a player earned was proportional to both their current level and how much progress they had made towards the next level. This was removed when cumulative experience was.
On July 4, 2020, at the start of Season 28, cumulative experience was removed and replaced with seasonal experience.
Seasonal experience[]
Seasonal levels initially required a player to race a certain number of times before leveling up. The player's level would be reset to 1 after each season ended. On October 16, 2021, with Season 36, the seasons were changed to be experience based. This was hinted at by Travis and in a Nitro Type Hub Twitter post. With this new experience system, after a player reached the final level in the base season pass, every level after would take double the xp to reach (from 20,000 to 40,000) and would be displayed as "∞ [number]". These "infinity levels" would start at 1 after the last level of the season pass.
Trivia[]
- There have been instances where XP was not reset to 0 after a season ended and before the next season started. This allowed users who logged in at the beginning of the new season to immediately earn all of the rewards up to the level they had achieved the previous season. This happened during Season 40 and Season 44.
