Events are two-week to three-month periods when limited-time cars, titles, and achievements are added to the game. The cars and titles are usually related to the theme of the event. Players are encouraged to complete as many event achievements as possible before the event ended; said achievements almost always required using an event car. Once an event ended, its cars, loot, and achievements became unobtainable.
In many cases, the Nitro admins decided to bring some of the event cars and loot back in the Shop, during seasons, or during a later year's event.
History
The first event on Nitro Type was the 2012 Xmaxx Event, which started on December 1, 2012 and ended on January 1, 2013.
Seasons were introduced in 2017. Many changes involving seasons took place throughout 2019, making them more rewarding and more similar to events. After finding that seasons were more profitable, they began to stop running events in favor of seasons. This was confirmed by Travis on January 6, 2020.[1]
However, on May 26, 2024, Adrian revealed that events were planned to be brought back following Season 53 in a news post. It was finally confirmed on March 14, 2025, that events would be returning following Season 56, which was dubbed "The Final Season".
After Season 56 ended on May 4, 2025, an Event tab was added, confirming the eventual return of events. New additions such as Event Perks were introduced, in a revamped version of them. On May 11, 2025, Spring Showdown, the first non-sponsored event in almost 6 years, began. This event ended on June 15, 2025 and the event tab was removed.
On November 1, 2025, the Seasons tab was reintroduced. It was officially confirmed on November 2, 2025, that Seasons would be permanently staying, replacing Events.
