Autumn Overdrive: XP, Dailies, and a New Season!
Hello Racers!
It’s officially Autumn and we’re positive you’ll fall for one of our biggest updates ever!
Not only do we have a brand new season - Autumn Overdrive - launching today, but we’ve got a huge new revamp of how seasons work, along with a cool daily way to unlock season tiers even faster.
Autumn Overdrive Season
First up, let’s cover the brand new season, starting today and running until November 28th.
Autumn Overdrive is 30 tiers worth of awesome new loot! 5 new trails, 5 new cars, as well as new stickers and titles. All with an autumnal theme. From the Black Friday inspired Cartrod, to the Blitz 935 Sunset - a gorgeous sports car with a fall-themed livery.
Better get down to business racing though, as this is a short season - just 42 days to complete it before our XMaxx season begins!
Experience Points (XP)
But how do you unlock season tiers, you ask? Well we’ve made some (a lot) of changes in that department!
In previous seasons, you had to grind away to unlock season tiers. Every tier was a set number of races, and how well you did in each race, who you raced with, how many races you had going in a session, etc - none of it helped you unlock tiers any faster.
Well good news: starting today, your season progress is driven by XP (experience points), not just the number of races done! Here’s a run down on how it works:
Every season tier is 20,000 XP (Infinity Tier is 40,000) and there are a ton of ways to rack up your XP every day. XP rewards you for nearly everything you do in Nitro Type. Racing with friends, racing 10+ times in a session, where you place, how fast you type, being Gold, and more.
Try it out and see for yourself all the sweet bonuses that get tallied after every race. You’ll earn more cash too!
Daily Challenges
But if that’s not enough, we’ve saved the biggest feature for last.
If you’re impatient like us, you want some big way to juice your season progress, every day. That’s why today we’re introducing Daily Challenges!
You’ll see Daily Challenges in your Garage and in the Race Results screen. Every day you’ll get three new Daily Challenges that you can complete prior to midnight, eastern time. Daily Challenges are goals like “Race 10 Times” or “Do 3 Races Without a Nitro.”
And the best part is, completing a Daily Challenge gives you an absolute windfall of XP - anywhere from 1,800 to 3,200 XP, depending on the difficulty of the Challenge.
So if you’re looking for a way to make a lot of Season progress, fast, completing Daily Challenges every day is the way to go!
